F-A-Natic Fridays – The NY Knicks select….

With the 38th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft the NY Knicks select…

Before we get to who the Knicks selected in the NBA Draft let’s first go through the status of the roster before the picks were selected. As all Knicks fans know, this is a big huge offseason for the organization. The 2010 free-agent class is loaded with talent; LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, Amar’e Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer…

With that much talent on the open market Donnie Walsh came in as Knicks GM 2 years ago with the idea of freeing up as much cap space as possible. Walsh is banking on that he can sign a top line free-agent (LeBron, Dwayne Wade) or at least sign two 2nd tier stars (Chris Bosh type players). To Walsh’s credit he was able to free up the much-needed cap space; no one could have imagined Walsh would have been able to get rid of the bloated contract of Jared Jeffries but he did. So the excitement of Knicks fans going into the 2010 offseason was pretty high; well at least as high as it has ever been since the Knicks acquired Stephon Marbury.

The residual effect of Walsh clearing cap space left the Knicks with a depleted roster made up of; Eddy Curry, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Toney Douglas and Bill Walker. Needless to say this is not the most attractive roster to help court the likes of LeBron, Dwayne Wade or Bosh. So Walsh had some work to do as he would have to add talent via the draft to help set the stage for July 1st (free agency officially starts).

In looking at the current the Knicks its obvious they have some holes in their lineup; legit shot blocker/rebounder, play-maker, and legit point guard. Some would also argue coach, HAHA!!

As the draft was approaching the Knicks picks (38 and 39) I started to realize that Brooklyn’s own Lance Stephenson was still on the board along with some legitimate centers. Stephenson is a very good raw talent; a physical 6’6″ shooting guard who can go to the basket. I understand that Stephenson is not a great shooter but I like the idea of the Knicks having some kind of a play maker that can create his own shot. I also believe he would have no fears in taking a shot with the shot-clock winding down; other than Gallinari no one has shown the desire to take that shot.

As the picks ahead of the Knicks started to wind down and teams continued to pass on Stephenson I was sure this was a done deal.

34. Portland: Armon Johnson, Nevada, shooting guard

35. Washington: Nemanja Bjelica, Serbia, small forward (draft rights traded to Minnesota)

36. Detroit: Terrico White, Ole Miss, shooting guard

37. Milwaukee: Darington Hobson, New Mexico, small forward

With the 38th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft the NY Knicks select…

Andy Rautins

Ummm, OK… This is not a bad pick, I mean I have watched Andy Rautins play for the past 3 years and his game has improved drastically. He is a GREAT shooter with a quick release, he is also a scrappy player that will compete every night. His defense is nothing to write home about but he is not here for defense, lol. I am concerned how much of an impact Rautins will have coming off the bench; i don’t know if he is that type of player that can come into a game and start lighting it up from 3 point land. Still this is not a bad pick and it doesn’t hurt that he is a Syracuse Alum (Orange Pride).

OK, no worries we need size; if I can’t at Lance Stephenson at least we can get a shot blocker. There are still some bigs left, Let’s Go!!!!

With the 39th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft the NY Knicks select…

Landry Fields

WTF, Landry Fields???? Just what the Knicks needed another 6’7″ small forward; sorry but what about Wilson Chandler, Billy Walker, and Gallinari? Is this really a position of need for the Knicks? NO!!!! Unless the Knicks are not as in love with Chandler as they used to be; he has finished the last 2 seasons with surgery and he was arrested for marijuana position this off-season. I don’t know this pick doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, not unless he is a chip in a future trade.

To be fair to Landry Fields he is a very athletic small forward that can score around the basket, he will need to work on his jumper and his defense. No offense but the last thing the Knicks need are more non-defenders.

According to reports today, Donnie Walsh apparently addressed our center needs. Reports are stating the Bucks will be dealing the 44th pick Jerome Jordan (7’1″); for whatever reason draft rules prohibit the deal from being finalized until 2 weeks after the draft. If this is true this is a very good move by the Knicks. Jerome is a good athlete that can run the floor and he can block shots!!!

All in all I am still disappointed that Lance Stephenson is not a Knick, but I can live with Rautins and Landry Fields will have to do a lot to make me forget about Stephenson. I will definitely be watching Stephenson progress in Indiana; watch out Walsh I will yelling outside of MSG before every home game if Stephenson turns out to be a stud!!!!

Have the Knicks address all of their needs? No, we still have Mike D’Antoni coaching the team HAHA!! We will get LeBron? Probably not, I think we have a better chance at bringing in 2nd tier players like Bosh, Joe Johnson, and Amar’e.

If there is something to be said, “It’s On Broadway” to step up and say it!!!

Free Flowing – General Stanley McChrystal

Photobucket

General McChrystal’s mouth and brash style seems to have finally caught up with him. Even though it is not clear cut whether or not McChrystal actually made the disparaging remarks about President Obama and his administration; there is no escaping this mess. This is the same general that openly criticized Vice-President Biden’s thoughts on strategy by calling Biden “Short-sided”. In all honest McChrystal was probably correct, but there are some comments you keep to yourself when making statements to the press. He was also widely known as the one who leaked confidential documents to the media concerning the request for more troops in Afghanistan.

For his “mistakes” General McChrystal met with President Obama on Airforce 1; Obama basically told McChrystal to watch his step and mouth. So you see this is not the first time President Obama had to check McChrystal. Actually if your into Baseball like I am that is Strike 1 and Strike 2. After all that you would think the general would have learned his lesson; yeah right!

Now we have the Rolling Stone’s interview of the general and his trusted inner circle. In reading the article (Runaway General) you can almost understand how something like this can happen. You have to wonder were these kats drunk when they decided to make these comments in front of a reporter?

For example the article opens with McChrystal getting ready to attend a dinner while in France. The Rolling Stones reporter inquired where the general was heading; McChrystal’s top aide responded dinner with a French Minister; followed by this remark, “So Fucking Gay..”.

WTF, who does that??

Throughout the article there are qoutes attributed to McChrystal about President Obama being “Intimidated” in a room full of military brass. Another qoute attributed to the general describing Obama as not being prepared in his first one-on-one meeting with McChrystal. Both qoutes were mentioned to the Rolling Stones reporter from top aides of McChrystal.

So why would McChrystal and his aides be so sloppy in letting this get out? It’s simple, all you have to do is look at the type of person the general is. McChrystal always pushed the limit on what he could get away with. That behavior dates back to his days at West Point. It was that behavior that made him successful and he saw no reason to stop.

This was also the type of behavior he looked for when putting together his inner circle. An inner circle they happily called Team America. A group of Black Ops/Special Forces guys; they knew they were the shit and you couldn’t tell them different. Unfortunately for McChrystal when you looked to push the envelope one day you are going to go too far; and that is exactly what happened with this Rolling Stone article.

The President has no choice but to immediately FIRE General McChrystal. If Obama wants to hold to whatever respect he has left in the military he cannot allow McChrystal to undermine his command. As the Commander-In-Chief the respect of your Armed Forces is critical, and the general jepordized that.

The crazy thing is that General McChrystal is a top notch soldier, and this will be a sad way to end a career; General McChrystal reminds me of Jack Nicholson’s character in “A Few Good Men”.

Even better, McChrystal and “Team America” can form the next A-Team?? HAHA!!

UPDATE:

General Stanley McChrystal resigned Wednesday June 23, 2010; President Obama announced that General Petraeus will take over as Commander of all Military Operations in Afghanistan.

Talking Points Tuesday – The Past is the Past…

Life is full of learning experiences and here is I had to be reminded of….

Boy meets girl, boy falls for girl but girl is already involved. Usually at that point boy would chalk it up to bad timing and move on; except this was different. Boy runs into girl everywhere; It didn’t help that boy and girl shared friends.

Eventually boy and girl exchange numbers but it’s strictly as friends; boy fully respects all relationships (believes in karma) so boy keeps feelings in check while being a friend to girl. In being friends, they begin to speak to each other daily. Conversations between the two range between what their respective days were about and what clothes they wore that day. Then conversations begin to go deeper as girl reveals her “Situation” is not going very well; she can’t trust her situation. Boy struggles with hopes girl relationship falls apart so that he can make his move. At the same time he wants to be there as a true friend to her; so in being a “Good” friend he suppress his feelings and supports girl while she works through her “Situation”.

No matter how much support boy gives girl her “Situation” continues to deteriorate and boy finally over comes his shyness and lets girl know his true feelings. Boy is pleased as girl reciprocates feelings; boy and girl finally “Break Lamps” (@BlkSportsOnline). All is right in boy’s world until girl reveals she is going back to her “Situation”.

DAMN…

Needless to say boy is devastated; but girl remains in contact with boy. Even though girl is in “Situation” she cannot forget about boy, but he is already emotionally burned by girl keeps his distance. Until one day girl traps boy and purges her heart to boy; she is fearful of leaving her “Situation” but finally gives into her heart.

BOY and GIRL ARE FINALLY TOGETHER!!!

The two date for 2 years and everything is great… At least it was until girl receives job offer that she cannot refuse; the problem it is in another state. Being the logical people they are boy and girl rationalize a mutual breakup, but is it really mutual??

Over the next couple of years boy and girl stay in contact with each other and eventually date other people, but their feelings for each other never truly fade as they agree to never discuss the relationships they are in.

One day girl calls boy to tell him she will be interviewing for her dream job, and if all goes well she will be moving back to his city. Boy can’t help but be a little excited about this scenario, over the years boy has dated several women but none have ever matched girl. He begins to wonder if they could ever rekindle those old feelings, in boy’s mind he thinks; Why not?

Girl arrives in town and interviews for job; she is confident. So confident she wants to celebrate with boy with a night on the town… Boy sets it out for girl and everything is great, at least it seemed that way.

Girl phone rings and she is excited to take the call, boy is curious who is calling this late what would have girl so excited? Mom, Dad??

Then girl says, “Hey Baby…”

Everything from that point on is blurry for boy, but unlike that day when girl told boy she was going back to her “Situation” he is not devastated but he is at ease. It was at that moment that boy realized, “The Past is The Past”. Boy and Girl are still good friends but contact between each other is less frequent. For boy thoughts of girl is also less frequent, except for when he catches glimpses of girl on TV or during the occasional cab ride. It’s only then when boy thinks, “Is the Past truly the Past??”

Militant Mondays – What happened to PAYGO??

On February 12, 2010, President Obama signed PAYGO rules into law; so why are the Democrats in Congress still trying to pass a Jobs Bill that does not fully pay for itself!!

PAYGO compels new spending or tax changes to not add to the federal deficit. Government saves up money to fund a specific project. Under the PAYGO rules a new proposal must either be “budget neutral” or offset with savings derived from existing funds. The goal of this is to require those in control of the budget to engage in the diligence of prioritizing expenses and exercising fiscal restraint.

With our National Debt growing every second it’s difficult for the American people to understand any more spending that could possibly be avoided. Spending is a hot button topic in the country right now and congress has to be careful; especially Democrats. The GOP will run November campaigns with spending being one of the top issues; more important than campaigns can this country sustain constant spending? The answer is NO!

Photobucket

What can be done to curtail the spending in Washington?

This is where PAYGO was supposed to play an important role; it was widely touted as the reason President Clinton was able to deliver balance budgets and leave the country when he left office with a surplus. So of course when I heard that President Obama wanted to reestablish PAYGO I was encouraged that both Democrats and Republicans will be held to rules that would result in fiscal discipline.

So how is that PAYGO working for us?

I would say still to be determined…

Currently the Democrats and Republicans are going back and forth on a Jobs Bill that will provide the following:

– provide tax breaks for individuals and businesses

– reauthorize several domestic aid programs, including extended unemployment benefits and the so-called “Doc Fix,” which protects doctors who see Medicare patients from a 21 percent pay cut.

Republicans and Conservative Democrats have paused on passing the bill due to concerns about adding to the deficit. Liberal Democrats will argue that the addition to the deficit is minor, but I will argue that any adding to deficit is not MINOR to everyday Americans who continue to watch nightly news reports of the rising debt. While at the same time approximately 1.2 million Americans will lose unemployment benefits if this bill is not passed. So what do we do?

This is not an easy decision but it is a decision that has to be made; and I am not saying I have all the answers but there has to be a way to construct a bill that will address most of everyone’s concerns. That means that Republicans and Moderate Democrats have to negotiate in good faith; while Liberal Democrats have to stop acting like spending is not a REAL problem. That means the president and Nancy Pelosi need to stop playing the unemployed card. Both the president and Pelosi talked about those on unemployment who lose benefits and also talked about the teachers, firefighters and police that will be affected if this Jobs Bill was not passed. This is a terrible situation for anyone to imagine but is this the right way to get legislation passed; at the same time those opposing the Jobs Bill need to provide solutions instead of just saying no!

Now all of this might come as surprise to most of the readers as earlier this year I supported extending unemployment benefits (Talking Points Tuesday – Hypocrisy), but even I have my breaking point. I speak from experience, I was unemployment during an extended period after 9/11; and I tried everything to find a job. Eventually I had to take a job that paid less; with that said I am in no way saying that most people on unemployment are lazy and just living off the government. I will never say that as I believe that way of thinking of those who fall for the stereotypes of the middle/low working class.

If I was in the Senate or House I believe I would be willing to make the tough decision on what needs to be cut so that we can move this country in the right direction. If we can continue to spend $600 Billion on defense spending why can’t some of that money go to other places. There is no other army in the world that can challenge the United States; would be weakened if we only spent $100 Billion on defense?

Of course defense spending will never be cut because no party, and I mean NO party has the political will to sell that idea; not even the Tea Party!!

Congress you what you have to do; stop all the political posturing and get it done!!!

F-A-Natic Fridays – Rand Paul

Photobucket

Are we really on the verge of a political revolution? Is our current political systems so screwed up that someone like Rand Paul could be the next political superstar? Personally I don’t believe we will suddenly see the fall of the 2 party system in the near future, but if we are not careful the radical aspects of both Republicans and Democrats will become dangerous influences within the parties.

In the case of Rand Paul he is a Libertarian with strong ties to the Tea Party Movement; officially he is a Republican.

So what exactly is a Libertarian?

Libertarians are committed to the belief that individuals, and not states or groups of any other kind, are both ontologically and normatively primary; that individuals have rights against certain kinds of forcible interference on the part of others.

Basically, Libertarians believe we the people would be much better off with less government in our lives.

So what would our society look like with less government? Would life really be that much better?

Well according to Rand Paul YES!

For some reason Rand Paul has a tremendous amount of faith in that society and natural progression will always fix what is wrong in the world. For example, Rand Paul supports the Civil Rights of every man, woman and child. He has said no one should be treated differently because of the color of their skin. He agrees with the Civil Rights Act on almost all points except for one part…

Title II of the Civil Rights Act made it a crime for private businesses to discriminate against customers on the basis of race. Paul explained that had he been in office during debate of bill, he would have tried to change the legislation. He said that it stifled first amendment rights.

In my opinion this is where being a Libertarian goes too far! Government stepped in to right a terrible wrong in our society. At the time society was not moving fast enough to abolish segregation; the government rightfully stepped in. Can you imagine if we waited for society to finally realize the wrongs of racism?

So now Rand Paul is a victim of his beliefs. He is now a player on the national stage as he prepares for the November elections. This country is not as conservative as he thinks it is. After making his remarks about the Civil Rights Act Paul was widely criticized. It was so bad he cancelled an appearance on Meet The Press.

So what happened to the Rand Paul from primary night that boldly stated the Tea Party was going to take back their government? You can’t fall back now, because you got slapped around by Rachel Maddow, HAHA!!!

At the end of the day he may win the Senate seat for Kentucky, but I predict he will not have much of an impact on the national scene. For the most we are a moderate society and this is what Libertarians like Paul have to understand.

There is a reason why we have government agencies like the Federal Avaition Administration and the Food Drug Administration. I like the idea that there are rules that pilots can only fly a certain amount of hours and that the government demands there are warning labels on drugs.

Rand Paul your too far left; come back to reality!!

Takeover Thursdays – Who the HELL is Alvin Greene???

Photobucket

Alvin Greene could possibly be one of the greatest rags to riches stories of all-time!!

If you don’t know who Alvin Greene is don’t worry; no one knows who this kat is? That includes Democrats who voted for him the South Carolina Democratic Primary. Apparently Greene can run a better campaign that President Obama. While Obama had to raise millions of dollars to campaign; this dude Greene spent virtually NO MONEY in winning the primary in South Carolina. This kat ran a campaign with limited funds, no website, and no campaign posters/signs. Some how an out of work military veteran was able to pay a $10,440 filing fee required to run for office in South Carolina. Greene claims the money is from money he saved from his military pay; this would be believable except that he is currently using a public defender in his obscenity case. That’s right we could add possible jail time to his outstanding “Political Resume”; lol!

As I was saying, In South Carolina for you to be eligible for a public defender you have to prove you have no money, I doubt this dude has any secret Cayman Island/Swiss bank accounts where he is hiding his secret stash. I’m not trying to be a hater, but this just doesn’t add up.

At this point Alvin Greene’s story is more fiction than Eddie Murphy’s movie “Distinguished Gentlemen”; I don’t even think Hollywood could make up a story as sensational as this one.

Of course to add to the drama there are several conspiracy theories as to how this happened; some have said that since Greene and his opponent in the primary Vic Rawl are unknowns that voters simply selected the first name they saw (Which was Greene). Others have speculated that the large African-American population in South Carolina may have thought that Alvin Greene was the legendary singer Al Green running for office. WTH, I mean that last theory gives Black people NO CREDIT at all.

Other than the theory that voters simply picked the first name they saw on ballot; the only other theory that is plausible but just a bit of a stretch in my mind was the one offered by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC). He believes Greene is a plant from the Republican party. The belief is that Republicans would want to have the weakest candidate possible to face incumbent Jim Demint. Clyburn case would be more believable if there was a strong Democrat in the running. In this case Vic Rawl is far from being a strong candidate! By the way, This is not the first time Clyburn has accused Republicans of foul play in South Carolina elections. To be fair to Greene, Clyburn has no real evidence.

In the next couple of days we will see if Greene will be the representative for the Democrats in November. Leaders within the Democratic party have asked for an investigation into Greene’s eligiblity as a candidate. It’s time for Alvin Greene to step and clearly answer simple questions about his campaign. For example, Where the hell did a broke military vet get $10,000 from?

Actually I am quietly rooting for the guy; if this kat can get 50% of the vote in a primary…

WTF/WTH Wednesdays – Sarah Palin, “Dutch are experts at plugging Dikes…”

Photobucket

This nutbag Sarah Palin continues to amaze me!!

Sarah Palin went on Bill O’Reilly’s show last night and managed to make herself sound crazier than ever. She spoke with O’Reilly after President Obama’s speech from the Oval Office and made outlandish comments that the President has not really made the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico his top priority. She also stated that the President has been ignoring assistance from other nations; her example of this was assistance being offered from the DUTCH and that we have failed to return their calls.

Palin stated, “The Dutch are very good at plugging Dikes….”

Seriously??? This moron is killing me, she is comparing a Dike (easy with the jokes folks) to oil gushing from the ocean floor (5,000 feet deep)! WTF is wrong with this lady, as my good friend on Twitter @nflgossipgirl would say, she needs a “Handler”. Who is in this women’s inner circle and why are they not stopping her before she speaks?

First of all Sarah, if you were paying attention to the President’s speech you would have realized that he did talk about not stopping until the well is capped and that we (U.S.) will do everything possible to stop this ecological disaster.

As for Mrs. Palin accusation that the President is ignoring the help of the Dutch. The Washington Post reported that the Dutch offered equippment to help skim the oil off the surface of the water. An offer the Unites States happily accepted; I am starting to believe that Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck share fact-checkers, can they get anything right?!?

I have to believe even the execs at Fox News had to be shaking their heads at Palin’s latest buffoonery. Well, maybe not… They still employ the other nutbag; Glenn Beck.

In all seriousness pundits on both sides need to take a step back; everyday they seem to report the President is not doing enough or that the President is not showing enough emotions. They also criticized his address last night for not pushing his agenda.

In my opinion the President used last night to tell Americans we will not stop until the leak is plugged. This was an address the people; not an attempt to gain votes! If the pundits would have showed some patience they would not had to turn around today and eat their words. President Obama followed up last nights speech with BP announcing they have setup $20 Billion in escrow for insurance claims and that they also setup $100 Million to pay out-of-work oil rig workers affected by the temporary deep-water oil drilling moratorium enacted by the President.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I will take action over words/emotions any time!

Militant Mondays – Bobby Jindal wants to continue drilling; why???

Photobucket

Whether you believe the BP’s Deepwater Horizon well is spewing 19,000 or 40,000 barrels of oil daily into the Gulf of Mexico, one fact remains constant. We have a catastrophe on our hands and it is getting worse everyday. The oil volcano that continues to leak oil will go down in U.S. history as the #1 environmental disaster. The effects of this oil spill could easily be felt for the next decade (that is a kind estimate); so what is the natural response of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal (whose state is being hit hard by the oil spill)?

Drill Baby Drill….

To be honest Governor Jindal didn’t exactly say that, but in a letter to President Obama Jindal has requested that the president lift the temporary moratorium that the president enacted on deep-water offshore drilling. Ummmmm…..

So Jindal wants to continue deep-water drilling while we continue to STRUGGLE to cap a deep-water well. A well so deep that BP is trying never before attempted ways (besides drilling a relief well) to stop or actually slow down the amount of oil being spilled into the Gulf. Does this make sense to anyone? Well anyone who is not a part of the GOP?

President Obama enacted the temporary moratorium as it became clear that there were several safety issues; as well as that the oil industry knew what it took to drill a deep-water well; BUT had no idea what it took to cap a deep-water well in a worse case disaster scenario.

There are several questions about how BP handled this well; safety, the process of requesting permission to drill these wells, the technology, and the procedure to properly cleanup a disaster are just a few that come to mind. So why would Governor Jindal want to continue this unsafe drilling? He claims he is trying to save the jobs of those working on oil rigs affected by the moratorium. But if there are questions about safety is he really protecting the people. What seems to be lost in the Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig disaster is that 11 people died; 11 priceless lives thrown away in the name of COST SAVINGS. This is the industry that Bobby Jindal is worried about; there are 33 deep-water offshore drilling rigs affected by the moratorium. According to the Huffington Post, “of the 33 permitted deep-water drilling rigs that Jindal wants to continue operating, two are under BP leases and two are operating under leases controlled jointly by BP and Devon…”.

Imagine if there was a massive safety failure like this in the aviation industry; the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) without a doubt would suggest the FAA ground planes or suspend operations for the company guilty of the safety infractions. Why is the disaster in the Gulf any different?

Bobby Jindal for whatever reason cannot seem to understand that there are too many unanswered questions as to what happened in this accident. We cannot afford another accident while in the middle of trying to stop the current leak; as for the rig workers out of work. There is no reason why these rich Oil Companies cannot afford to flip the bill to continue paying workers while all rigs are re-checked for safety. Where is Bobby Jindal when it comes to fighting for SAFETY FIRST!!

No oil rig should be allowed to operate until they have gone through a thorough safety inspection.

No deep-water offshore oil rigs should be allowed to operate until Blow-out Protectors are proven to be safe and actually do its job and PROTECT!!!

WTF/WTH Wednesdays – Wanted: Angry Black Man….

I could not believe what I was watching/listening to when I turned on CNN this evening (that’s what I get for no immediately turning to MSNBC); there was Roland Martin explaining why President Obama could not be an angry Black man! Ummm, WTF is going on?

Barack Obama ran one of the coolest/calmest campaign for someone who was relatively new to the big stage of politics. It was his cool demeanor that helped him handle the ups and downs of a Presidential campaign. Who else could have handled the difficult subject of current day race relations? Well Barack Obama took that challenge on and delivered one of the all-time great speeches. There was endless praise for his handling of a difficult situation; he made it look easy!

This is the same guy that displayed leadership while still a presidential candidate during the financial crisis. As McCain and Obama sat in a room receiving a debriefing on the financial catastrophe that was occurring towards the end of 2008. Who was Secretary of Treasury Henry Paulson “impressed with”? Barack Obama…

Then becoming the first African-American President of the United States; the man seems to never sweat. Let’s be honest he has “Too Much Swag” (TMS), HAHA!! Seriously, while in office President Obama has guided the country back from the brink of financial ruin all while never losing his cool.

He was elected because the country was ready for a thinker who didn’t overreact. The nation had enough of that with President Bush and his rash decisions. So why now with this crisis in the Gulf is the media looking for the President to be a “Ra Ra” cheerleader. That’s not this President style, he will manage the situation and make sure he has all the information before reacting.

Now we are seeing the President react; telling Matt Lowery that he basically wants to, “Kick Ass”! He is doing this now not because he is feeling the pressure from the media; but he has more information. Not sure what else the media or people are expecting from the President. He is handling this with the say calm and cool.

So why is everybody surprised at the way President Obama is handling this situation?

There is no need for the President to be angry and there is definitely no need for any debate about if the President can be an Angry Black Man. Race has no place in this, when will we just judge this President based on him being just the PRESIDENT!

I am honestly surprised that Roland Martin even discussed this topic; but I will give CNN a pass this time around. I just want CNN to be better, there is so much to talk about with this oil spill. Shed light on the work that still needs to be done with the cleanup; this spill has Florida in its cross-hairs. Let’s focus on a plan to protect Florida!!
