Takeover Thursdays – Kanye West’s Monster Video

Ummmm, so Kanye’s Monster video is interesting to say the least.  If you can get past the first shot of Rick Ross sitting in a room full of models hanging from the ceiling then the scene of Kanye laying in the bed with 2 dead models should be no problem at all.  As usual Jay-Z delivers with his appearance , I try not to pay attention to the dead naked White girl on the couch…  You would think Ross, Kanye and Jay-Z would be a little nervous in this video with all these dead White women lying around them, HA!!

As for Nicki Minaj she stole the show and that is hard to say when you have Jay-Z in any song/video.  Having a Barbie Minaj tied up being circled and tormented by an Evil Nicki is GREAT; Evil Nicki performing the grimy hard lyrics and straddling Barbie Minaj was nicely done.  Of course it doesn’t hurt to see Evil Nicki in some black lace leggings showing her booty, LOL!!

Overall this is an interesting video, keep in mind this is not a finished product but I can’t imagine what they can add to the video.  If anything there might be some censorship with the hanging models; who knows how far Kanye can push the envelope with his dark side.

WTF/WTH Wednesdays – Chris Brown vs Raz-B

So earlier today Chris Brown and Raz-B had their own version of Beef on Twitter; it all seem to have started when Raz-B decided to overdose on his admiration of Rihanna on Twitter…

This is the video that made me fall for @Rihanna ummmm Im gonna chew you up a bubblegum- Rude Boy youtube.com/watch?v=5Ngaob… – via Raz-B Twitter

As we all know Raz-B has accused his former manager Chris Stokes of molesting him and since then young Raz-B has been associated with all types of gay rumors.  So to many this Twitter obsession with Rihanna is a bit suspicious but it didn’t stop there as the fuse was lite when Raz-B decided to take an indirect shot at C. Breezy.

Now some will say that Raz-B is not trying to beef and that he was only speaking the truth; ummmm yeah that’s it…..  GTFOH this kat wanted beef and he got it; he put C. Brown’s Twitter handle in the tweet just so Brown would see it.  Let’s be real whether you like Chris or not you can’t fault him for firing back; in no way am I condoning what Chris did to Rihanna when he beat her up but there is no reason for Raz to take a shot at him.  If he is trying to holla at Rihanna then holla, I’m not going to hate that the young kat chose Twitter to get at the chick; I guess that’s his game.  But I have no sympathy for him that Breezy went on a verbal assault pulling no punches.

Chris Brown

At the end of the day this is all funny to me; 2 light-skinned R&B kats fighting over Twitter.  Neither one of them look like they would ever throw a punch; well I guess we know Breezy would……  My bad Chris no shots fired at you, just saying.

But the back and forth between Chris and Raz wasn’t the craziest shit out of all this; Raz-B’s brother came to his defense but his brother might have killed himself with the following tweet

Ummmmmmmm……. “imma do you how @marqueshouston did @1omarion…you ever been t prison Little Boy??”.  Does Ricky Romance realize how gay this sounds?  Men get f*@ked in prison, why would you even bring that up when you bro has been called gay?  Later on Mr Romance would go on to pretty much threaten Brown,

“@chrisbrown i think you a talented artist but im still gonna shove my pistol in your mouth if i catch you alone w/ no security lol.God Night”.

Hopefully there is no violence as a result of this nonsense, its actually funny that all this beef started after there was a Beef marathon on FUSE last night.  I think all these light-skinned pretty mofos need to be easy and relax, ain’t none of them built for all the talk they have been spitting!!

Lady Jazz, daughter of former NBA star Kenny Anderson with Power Freestyle

For the record this is not a Freestyle as a true freestyle is “off the top of the head” / improvised; in the defense of Lady Jazz she never states in the video that this is a freestyle.

Now that I got that out-of-the-way, Lady Jazz is the 14-year-old daughter of former NBA star Kenny Anderson and Tami Roman of VH1’s Basketball Wives.  I have no hate for Lady Jazz and let me say that her little rhyme is cool, I wish her nothing but the best and we will see how this video will jump-start her rap career.  It also doesn’t hurt that her mom is on VH1’s Basketball Wives so she will have a bunch of opportunities to crack the lady MC game in rap.  This might be the right time for Lady Jazz as Nikki Minaj and Willow Smith seem to be pumping fresh blood in the music game for the ladies; only time will tell…

For those of you who don’t know Tami Roman, she once participated on MTV’s Real World.  She is famously remembered for a controversial moment on the show when she had fellow Real World roommate David Edwards kicked off the show…

Amar’e Stoudemire getting his fashion on….

Amar'e Stoudemire

Looks like Amar’e Stoudemire aka STAT is taking full advantage of all the opportunities New York has to offer.  This is why NY is a great market for a superstar; you can maximize your full value here…  So it looks like STAT is not only trying to put his stamp on NY on the basketball court but he is also jumping into the world of fashion.  It is being reported that Amar’e will be teaming up with Rachel Roy New York designer on a clothing collection.

The insiders said the line will be a part of Roy’s contemporary label for Macy’s, Rachel Roy, and is being planned to launch next fall. Although details are still being squared away, we hear the collection will be for women. via NY Post’s Page Six

Not exactly sure what Stoudemire knows about women’s clothes….

I guess it could work out since the “World’s Most Famous Arena” (MSG) is only a couple of blocks away from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT); he could ball out for the Knicks and then on off days learn the world of women’s fashion HAHA!!!

Look as long as he can carry the Knicks to the playoffs I could care less what he does with his free time (as long as it is legal); if he can carry the Knicks and the world of Fashion on his shoulders than more power to him!  STAT just better remember what comes first… that he is being paid $100 Million by the Knicks!!

Larry David thanks President Obama for tax cuts…

Larry David

The creator of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm Larry David wrote a thank you letter to the President in the NY Times OP-ED section for extending tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.  While reading his thank you note please keep in mind that Larry David is a supporter of President Obama.

THERE is a God! It passed! The Bush tax cuts have been extended two years for the upper bracketeers, of which I am a proud member, thank you very much. I’m the last person in the world I’d want to be beside, but I am beside myself! This is a life changer, I tell you. A life changer!

To begin with, I was planning a trip to Cabo with my kids for Christmas vacation. We were going to fly coach, but now with the money I’m saving in taxes, I’m going to splurge and bump myself up to first class. First class! Somebody told me they serve warm nuts up there, and call you “mister.” I might not get off the plane!

I’m also going to call the hotel and get another room so I don’t have to sleep on a cot in the kids’ room. Don’t get me wrong — I love a good cot. The problem is they tend to take up a lot of room, and it’s getting a little tougher in my advancing years to fold it up and drag it to the closet. I mean, I’d do it if I had to, but guess what? I don’t! Not with this windfall coming my way. Now I get to have my own room with a king-sized bed. And who knows, maybe I’ll even get some fancy bottled water from the minibar. This is shaping up to be the best vacation I’ve had in years.

When I get home, thanks to the great compromise, the first thing I’m going to do is get a flat-screen TV. Finally I can throw out the 20-inch Zenith with the rabbit ears, the one I inherited from my parents when they died. The reception is terrible and I’m getting tired of going out to bars every time I want to watch a game. Last month, the antenna broke and I tried to improvise one with a metal hanger and wound up cutting myself. Every time I see that scab, I say to myself, “If, God willing, those Bush tax cuts are restored, I’m going to buy a new TV.” Well, guess what? They have been!

It’s also going to be a boon for my health. After years of coveting them, I’ll finally be able to afford blueberries. Did you know they have a lot of antioxidants, which prevent cancer? Cancer! This tax cut just might save my life. Who said Republicans don’t support health care? I’m going to have the blueberries with my cereal, and I’m not talking Special K. Those days are over. It’s nothing but real granola from now on. The kind you get in the plastic bins in health food stores. Did someone say “organic”?

The only problem is if, God forbid, the tax cuts are repealed in two years, how will I ever go back to Special K and bananas? Well, I did quit smoking, so I’m sure if push came to shove I could summon up the willpower to get off granola and blueberries. Of course, I suppose with the money I managed to save from the “Seinfeld” syndication, I probably could continue to eat granola with blueberries, but let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.

Life was good, and now it’s even better. Thank you, Republicans. And a special thank you to President Obama and the Democrats. I didn’t know you cared.

At least we know some people are happy with the tax cuts deal, LOL!!

Talking Points Tuesdays – GOP Stall Ratifying the START Treaty

The New START Treaty (for STrategic Arms Reduction Treaty) is being hotly debated (latest news it will be ratified today) in the Senate and once again I find myself asking

For those of you who don’t know what exactly START is, here you go…

Under terms of the treaty, the number of strategic nuclear missile launchers will be reduced by half. A new inspection and verification regime will be established, replacing the mechanism defined by the earlier treaty. Meanwhile, a number of operationally inactive stockpiled nuclear warheads will remain in the high thousands in both the Russian and United States inventories.

Removal from service of at least 30 missile silos, 34 bombers and 56 submarines launch tubes, though missiles removed would not be destroyed and bombers could be converted to conventional use. While 4 of 24 launchers on each of the 14 submarines would be removed, none would be retired.

The treaty will limit the number of deployed strategic nuclear warheads to 1,550, which is down nearly two-thirds from the original START treaty, as well as 30% lower than the deployed strategic warhead limit of the 2002 Moscow Treaty. The total number of warheads retained, however, could exceed the 1,500 limit by a few hundred because the treaty assumes that bombers only carry one warhead regardless of their actual carrying capacity. It will also limit the number of deployed and non-deployed inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) launchers, submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) launchers, and heavy bombers equipped for nuclear armaments to 800. Also, it will limit the number of deployed ICBMs, deployed SLBMs, and deployed heavy bombers equipped for nuclear armaments to 700. The treaty allows for satellite and remote monitoring, as well as 18 on-site inspections per year to verify limits.

On April 8th 2010 Presidents Barack Obama and Dmitry Medvedev (Russia) signed the new treaty; the next step for the United States is for the treaty to be ratified by congress and this is where all the problems started.  The House approved the treaty in a short amount of time but then the treaty has been held up by the Senate.  The agreement was submitted to the Senate on May 13th and has since then been reviewed and approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  So after having the treaty in front of them for 8 months Republican Senators like Jim DeMint, John McCain and John Kyle NOW want to complain about not having enough time in the Lame Duck Session to ratify the treaty.  Kyle went as far to say that it was sacrilege for congress to be forced to work on Christmas Eve.

The simple fact is that Republicans are holding up the START Treaty so that President Obama a Democrat would get the credit for negotiating an arms treaty with the Russians.  At this point we are dangerously living in the world with less than adequate inspection of dangerous nuclear material, the START treaty addresses this.  The president was advised by several military experts that this treaty will not weaken the U.S. missile defense program… Republicans should just stop the BS!!!!

If the DeMint’s, McCain’s or Kyle’s of the world do not want to listen to military experts how about five former GOP secretaries of state—Henry Kissinger, George Shultz, James Baker, Lawrence Eagleburger, and Colin Powell… they all say the new START agreement does not block US missile defense.  They see no reason why the START Treaty should not be ratified.

Perhaps the GOP is holding up the treaty because they are still smarting over the Tax Deal or that the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” was passed…  In any case stop the partisan politics!!

GOP Stalling on 9/11 1st Responders…

Firefighters, police, and paramedics on 9/11 never hesitated when the call came over the radio on that day.  While everyone else is running away from danger these men and women ran to it.  Then in the aftermath they came together to cleanup and search for possible survivors; all the while being told by the government the air was safe.

President Bush stood with first responders and promised that we will never forget and that would recover; so why nearly 10 years later when it comes to those first responders are Republicans playing partisan politics?  I can understand politicians playing games with Tax Deals, and other forms of legislations that may go against their ideology but that was supposed to all changed on 9/11.  There are no politics when it comes to 9/11, or at least there should not be…  Except Republicans have decided that politics are more important.

At first Republicans complained about the price tag of the bill; the original bill would have cost $7.2 billion and would have provided enhanced healthcare and monitored the health of those who worked at Ground Zero. Democrats then setup the legislation so that it would be paid; Democrats would pay for the bill by closing a tax loophole that gave foreign businesses a tax break for bringing foreign workers into the United States.

So what is the REAL motivation of the GOP?

Well, all you have to look at is the United States Chamber of Commerce who oppose closing the tax loophole; their argument is that this will hurt relations with foreign businesses.  So when did foreign companies become more important than Americans?  So where are those Republicans like Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann etc… who challenge President Obama’s loyalties?

The GOP is so desperate to raise money for their party that they are willing to sellout Americans rather than upset a HUGE money donor like the U.S  Chamber of Commerce!

Currently Senators Schumer and Gilibrand have been working on passing the bill; they have trimmed the cost of the bill down to $6.2 billion and are hoping they will have enough Republican votes to pass this.  The hope is that the Senate will pass this legislation today for it be signed by the President before the Lame Duck Session of Congress is over.

It’s crazy to believe that Republicans held extending unemployment benefits for millions of Americans along with tax breaks for the middle class hostage so that they could extend unpaid tax breaks for the richest Americans.  Is there any question who Republicans care about?

F-A-Natic Fridays – The NY Knicks are for real but how “REAL” are they…

Amar'e Stoudemire

So here we go Knicks fans, tonight’s game is the 2nd test for the Knicks.  In many ways you can say that the Knicks have already shown a lot; it has been a LONG time since NY was this excited about basketball.  The Knickerbockers are 16-10 and coming off a heartbreaking defeat to the Celtics; without a doubt Amar’e Stoudemire has made an early case for MVP.  Stoudemire aka STAT (Standing Tall And Talented) set the Knicks record for 8 consecutive games scoring 30 or more points including adding his 9th straight game with a dominant performance against the Celtics.  This current streak by STAT has put him in the same company of the likes of Michael Jordan and Shaq O’Neil.

Needless to say STAT has already put his stamp on this team!

Many critics will say that during their 8 game winning streak that the Knicks have not faced quality opponents; while this is true you have to keep in mind where this organization has come from.  For TRUE Knicks fans no matter the quality of the opponents we know that the games we have won during this winning streak would not have been possible a year ago.  Even with the loss Wednesday night against the Celtics the Knicks have put an early stamp on the season; just ask the Celtics if they think the Knicks are for real.  Actually the Celts may not publicly say anything but the look on Paul Pierce’s face when Amar’e hit what was thought to be the game winning shot was priceless!

But enough of the Knicks losing to the Celtics… I will give the Knicks credit for giving the Celtics a run for their money but that’s it!  At the end of the day a loss is a loss and tonight we have the Heat and LeBron; no disrespect to Dwayne Wade but Bron will be the focus of NY fans tonight.  I expect tons of booing and unlike his past performances at the Garden when he was with the Cavs their will not be any cheering moments by Knicks fans for Bron Bron.  If the Knickerbockers REALLY want to show NYC and the rest of the NBA that they mean business they must win tonight!!!

There will be no moral victories!!!!

Against the Celtics the Knicks were able to hang and at times control the game; the Heat are not as good (team wise) as the Celtics so YES I am expecting the Knicks to win tonight.  Good teams bounce back and win these games, a win tonight will show that this Knicks team is more than just a .500 or barely above .500 team.

One thing for sure is that Knicks fans will not be a WITNESS tonight to the greatness of LeBron like Cavs fans were (Bron Bron made Cavs Fans Once Again Witness His Greatness…)

What I will be watching tonight is how the Knicks manage to play when Amar’e is not on the court; against the Celtics his absence was a problem as the team lost its way.  In my opinion this is the reason the Knicks need a solid 2nd scoring option, now is that player Melo???  That is still to be determined….

Talking Points Tuesdays – 9 hour filibuster by Bernie Sanders

Senator Bernie Sanders

Bravo Senator Bernie Sanders for your efforts Friday (12/10/2010), as I stated in a previous post (F-A-Natic Fridays – Democrats Still Willing to Fight….) Bernie Sanders told MSNBC’s Ed Schulze that he would do what he could do to block President Obama’s Tax Deal with Republicans.  Not sure how many people took Bernie serious but on 12/10/2010 took the floor of the Senate to plead his case to Senate and Americans watching that particular why the extending the tax cuts for the rich were wrong.

For the record this was technically not a true filibuster…

A true filibuster, would be blocking Republicans from conducting business or speaking.

“take as long as I can to explain to the American people the fact that we have got to do a lot better than this agreement provides.” – Senator Bernie Sanders

At 10:25 am Sanders started his explanation with the following statement,

“How can I get by on one house?”

“I need five houses, ten houses! I need three jet planes to take me all over the world! Sorry, American people. We’ve got the money, we’ve got the power, we’ve got the lobbyists here and on Wall Street. Tough luck. That’s the world, get used to it. Rich get richer. Middle class shrinks.”

His opening statement lasted 2 hours, then with the help of Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Mary Landrieu (D-La.) the trio were able to stretch the discussion for the next 9 hours!  I can’t say enough about the efforts of the 3 Democrat senators; for the most part they knew that this tax deal would more than likely be passed by the Senate (it would eventually pass a test vote, opening the door for final passage).  All I can offer is my gratitude as I fully support their opposition to this tax deal.

Someone had to take a stand and ask the question WHEN IS ENOUGH ACTUALLY ENOUGH???

Thank You Bernie Sanders, Sherrod Brown, and Mary Landrieu for standing up for the people and asking that question…
