Marc Lamont Hill shows how to handle Bill O’Reilly

When you go on the Bill O’Reilly show on FOX News you better be prepared as Bill is a bully and will cut you off at any given moment.  O’Reilly only knows one way of interviewing and that is getting his point across, he shamelessly cutoff the President of the United States during a Super Bowl interview.  So I usually cringe when I hear someone I respect will be on his show, well not everyone….

Marc Lamont Hill has proven time and time again he is more than capable of handling O’Reilly; Hill is a Associate Professor at Teachers College, Columbia University and hosts his own show on ABC called Our World with Black Enterprise.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Hill at a panel discussion that was hosted by Rev Al Sharpton’s National Action Network HQ in Harlem.  I was able to briefly talk to Hill after the event and I let him know that I became a fan of his after watching him handle O’Reilly on several occasions.  I let him know that he was a great example of how a Black man can constructively debate without having to be a stereotypical loud Black person.  The only complaint I had of Hill is that he is a sports fan of everything Philly; I realize we can’t be perfect but Philly??  HAHA, of course Hill immediately reminded me that my Mets are looking up to his Phils… No worries we will be on top again!!!

ANYWAY……

Back to Hill and O’Reilly, recently Hill appeared on O’Reilly’s show discussing the question “Has the country lost confidence in President Obama?”

Future guest should take note and study this video, no matter what Bill is going to interrupt but you have to keep your composure and not get flustered.  Keep up the good work Hill, and oh yeah Phillies suck!!!

NY Mets Jose Reyes the music artist???

So Jose Reyes is expanding is talents to the studio as a budding music artist, yup that’s right the superstar shortstop of the NY Mets is starting to showcase his talents off the diamond.  As a Mets fan we know all about the skills of Reyes on the field but to be honest Jose is a quiet person off the field.  You don’t hear much from Jose outside of baseball and to be honest I always thought that was due to the language barrier, yes Reyes can speak English but you can tell he is still hesitant during interviews as he tries to make sure he says the right thing.  This is a common theme with the Latino born players as they are thrust into this environment at a young age and force to deal with not only being successful at baseball but also being able to adapt to a new home.

I guess you can look at music and see how Jose can crossover and still be comfortable; anyone that has watched Jose over the years understands that he is a baseball players that loves to perform and electrify a crowd.  So in music he is doing the same thing, the question is can he hold a tune???

I will say this, it sounds cool!!!

Since I don’t speak a lick of Spanish I can’t tell if Reyes is making any sense but I can say he looks comfortable in the video and then in the 2nd clip he is step with the beat, HAHA!!!!

Oh yeah, I have no idea which voice is Reyes in the 2nd clip.  I am assuming he is the 1st voice actually spitting lyrics, other than that your guess is good as mine.

Can I get a translator??
