Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels takes it back to the Old School

So this might be the 1st and last time I EVER give a Philadelphia Philly any credit.

As a Mets fan I hate the Phillies, not as much as I hate the Yankees but it’s still hate!

But I have to give props to Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels for taking it back to the old school; it was just the other day that I was watching the Colorado Rockies playing the Mets and the Rockies center fielder Dexter Fowler (who is not that good) hit a homerun.  Instead of just taking his victory lap, Fowler had to add a bat flip to homerun trot.  I explained to my friend that you just don’t do that, and back in the day either Fowler would be intentional hit by the pitcher or the teams best player would be hit.

It’s about playing the game the RIGHT way…..

So when Cole Hamels hit Washington Nationals young phenom Bryce Harper in the 1st inning Sunday, I have to admit I could appreciate the way Cole Hamels is playing the game.

“I was trying to hit him…  I’m not going to deny it.”

“That’s something I grew up watching, that’s kind of what happened. So I’m just trying to continue the old baseball because I think some people are kind of getting away from it. I remember when I was a rookie the strike zone was really, really small and you didn’t say anything because that’s the way baseball is…”  – Cole Hamels

Hamels was well aware of the situation as he did it on national TV (ESPN); Harper is a phenom that has been talked about ever since he was drafted by the Nationals.  Harper has a reputation for being cocky and without a doubt Hamels knew this.

“It’s just, ‘Welcome to the big leagues.’ “

Also credit to Bryce Harper as he took the beaning in stride, I would not have been shocked if Harper had rushed the mound to get at Hamels.  Instead Harper took his base and even score as he stole home on Hamels; again playing the game the right way.

Good job by Hamels and Harper!!

Ted Nugent, “I’ll suck your d*@k…”

Ummmmmmm…….

Yeah so Ted Nugent once again went on a rant, and this time he offered to give head to a CBS News reporter and then offered to have sex with a producer that was off-screen.

“And if you can find a screening process more powerful than that, I’ll suck your dick.”

“Or fuck you, how’s that sound?”

This is what happens when you give a nutbag attention and TV time, but hey he is a “Damned nice guy…”

Thanks to @MookinMIA for sending me the clip, HILARIOUS!!!!

Militant Mondays – Basketball Wives the Movie…

I am not even sure what to say about Basketball Wives the Movie

The TV show Basketball Wives irritates the hell out of me; watching Black/Latino women make fools of themselves was fun at 1st but this has gotten out of hand.  It has gotten to the point it is sad to watch these women sell themselves out for the fame.  I wrote before how much of a pimp Shaunie O’neal was for making money off these broads, and also had sad it was.

And now Shaunie’s pimp game is about to hit the big screen….

So far it sounds like the movie version of Basketball Wives will be a fictional story about a woman who deals with her NBA boyfriend and the other basketball girlfriends.  I wonder if the story will ACTUALLY have women who are wives???

Now I will do what I can not to pass judgement before watching the final product, but it is going to be difficult.  To be successful you have to believe that the movie will attempt to follow the formula that has made the TV show so successful.  It will be interesting to see what direction Tracey Edmonds will take the movie; there has been a lot of bad press recently with Basketball Wives lately as this season has seem to go over the top with all the fighting/violence.  Evelyn Lozada has been the focus of the criticism as she has gone into overdrive with the bitch calling and table hopping.  It’s so bad that a petition was started on Change.org against Evelyn and her upcoming show ‘Eve and Ocho’ with Chad Ochocinco.

You know I am not sure if this is what they meant when people talked about what the success of ‘Think Like A Man’ would do for future “Black films”.
