Gwyneth Paltrow got herself into a little trouble over Twitter when she tweeted,
Ni**as in Paris for real @MrTeriusNash (the dream) tyty, beehigh say.ly/ySc3rTP
while she was at a Watch The Throne concert in Paris watching Jay-Z and Kanye perform their hit titled ‘Ni**@$ In Paris’.
I will admit, I am not comfortable with Paltrow tweeting this, but at the same time I don’t believe this should raise a stink. Would have been any better if Paltrow had tweeted the following:
Listening to ‘Ni**gas in Paris’, while in Paris!!
People want to get all uptight when non-Blacks say the N-word but its cool that Jay-Z and Kanye have a hit song basically glorifying the word for millions of fans. Those same fans who may 1st hear the censored version of the song on the radio, will be the same (predominately non-Black) fans who will buy the EXPLICIT LYRICS version of the album and walk around mouthing the N-word without hesitation.
AND WE SHOULD BE UPSET WITH GWYNETH PALTROW??????
Stop it folks, if you don’t want non-Blacks saying the word then you should not want ANYONE saying the word!
In no way do I believe Paltrow meant any harm but that doesn’t mean she is completely innocent in this matter, she should know better. Once again Twitter proves to be a lethal weapon where you can get caught up in the moment.
On yeah, if you didn’t already know Paltrow is a fan of hip-hop. She once appeared on a TV show in London and recited lyrics from NWA’s “Straight Outta Compton”, check my post Gwyneth ‘Rapping’ Paltrow from May 21, 2011.
Notice Paltrow censored herself….
If there is something to be said, “It’s On Broadway” to step up and say it!!
Gwyneth without the red carpet smoke and mirrors looks like a blonde version of her cousin from The L Word. It’s amazing what a professional stylist and makeup artist can do.
