Yup, I said it, and have always believed it and Porzingis aka “The Unicorn” believes it as well.
“I think it would make life harder for me on the court (if Anthony was traded),” Porzingis told the Daily News. “He makes stuff easier for me.”
When KP and the Knicks defeated the NJ Nets Wednesday night, Knicks’ fans who have booed Melo at MSG finally saw their vision come true; KP leading the Knicks without Melo (on the bench for the 4th quarter).
As a Knicks fan I am always happy when the Knicks win, but we have to be realistic. KP is 0-8 when Melo doesn’t play, and I realize it’s a small sample size but still relevant. KP will be a very good and possibly a great player but he still has a lot to learn and prove in the NBA.
“There’s still a lot more things I want to learn from Melo,” Porzingis told The News. “So I would love to have him around for a long time. I always love playing with Melo.”
So Knicks fans, while I agree that it maybe time for Melo to be traded, at the same time we have to be careful of a couple of things. We can’t afford to get rid of Melo and get trash in return, and the organization needs a plan moving forward to develop KP and have an identity for the Knicks.
One last thing… Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday Knicks fans will miss Melo when he is gone!

Gregg Popovich is known for his straight to the point interviews with NBA sideline reporters (especially Craig Sager).
In an interview Friday, Popovich shared his thoughts/feelings about the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States.
In the interview Popovich referred to Trump as a race baiter and a whole lot more…..
“Right now I’m just trying to formulate thoughts. It’s too early. I’m just sick to my stomach. Not basically because the Republicans won or anything, but the disgusting tenure and tone and all of the comments that have been xenophobic, homophobic, racist, misogynistic.
“I live in that country where half of the people ignored all of that to elect someone. That’s the scariest part of the whole thing to me. It’s got nothing to do with the environment and Obamacare, and all of the other stuff. We live in a country that ignored all of those values that we would hold our kids accountable for. They’d be grounded for years if they acted and said the things that have been said in that campaign by Donald Trump.
“I look at the Evangelicals and I wonder, those values don’t mean anything to them? All of those values to me are more important than anybody’s skill in business or anything else because it tells who we are, and how we want to live, and what kind of people we are. That’s why I have great respect for people like Lindsey Graham and John McCain, John Kasich, who I disagree with on a lot of political things, but they had enough fiber and respect for humanity and tolerance for all groups to say what they said about the man.
“That’s what worries me. I get it, of course we want to be successful, we’re all going to say that. Everybody wants to be successful, it’s our country, we don’t want it to go down the drain. But any reasonable person would come to that conclusion, but it does not take away the fact that he used that fear mongering, and all of the comments, from day one, the race baiting with trying to make Barack Obama, our first black president, illegitimate. It leaves me wondering where I’ve been living, and with whom I’m living.
“The fact that people can just gloss that over, start talking about the transition team, and we’re all going to be kumbaya now and try to make the country good without talking about any of those things. And now we see that he’s already backing off of immigration and Obamacare and other things, so was it a big fake, which makes you feel it’s even more disgusting and cynical that somebody would use that to get the base that fired up. To get elected. And what gets lost in the process are African-Americans, and Hispanics, and women, and the gay population, not to mention the eighth grade developmental stage exhibited by him when he made fun of the handicapped person. I mean, come on. That’s what a seventh grade, eighth grade bully does. And he was elected president of the United States. We would have scolded our kids. We would have had discussions until we were blue in the face trying to get them to understand these things. He is in charge of our country. That’s disgusting.”
“One could go on and on, we didn’t make this stuff up. He’s angry at the media because they reported what he said and how he acted. That’s ironic to me. It makes no sense. So that’s my real fear, and that’s what gives me so much pause and makes me feel so badly that the country is willing to be that intolerant and not understand the empathy that’s necessary to understand other group’s situations. I’m a rich white guy, and I’m sick to my stomach thinking about it. I can’t imagine being a Muslim right now, or a woman, or an African-American, a Hispanic, a handicapped person. How disenfranchised they might feel. And for anyone in those groups that voted for him, it’s just beyond my comprehension how they ignore all of that. My final conclusion is, my big fear is — we are Rome.”
Matt Harvey‘s season long nightmare has come to an end, as he has decided to have season-ending surgery to address the recently diagnosed condition thoracic outlet syndrome. This occurs when muscles in the neck and shoulders impinge on nerves leading to numbness and loss of strength and stamina in the shoulder and arm.
All season long Harvey has insisted that he just could not get comfortable on the mound, and it was evident by his performance. The pitcher known as the Dark Knight lost his feel for the game, his pitches, and the love of many Mets fans (Not this one, just saying).
And while surgery is never a good thing, especially for a pitcher and his arm. Harvey seems relieved to know that there was something physically wrong possibly causing his issues.
I can’t wait for the Dark Knight to rise again next season!

69-years ago, Jackie Robinson made his major league debut for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947.
In celebration of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in baseball, all MLB teams retired the #42 and April 15th is now known as ‘Jackie Robinson Day’. On this day all players, coaches, and umpires wear Robinson’s #42.
If you have not seen the Ken Burns‘ documentary on Robinson you can check it out online
In 2015 Taylor Swift made headlines when she used her influence to pressure Apple into making sure writers, producers and artist were being going to be paid when Apple dropped their streaming service with a free trial period.
Well it looks like Swift and Apple are cool again with the release of this new Apple Music commercial starring Swift.
HAHAHA, it’s always a good look when those in the lime-light can make fun of themselves.
When can we see Swift rapping Kanye West lyrics?
My bad Taylor…..

Kristaps Porzingis has taken the NBA by storm in the first half of the season, so be prepared for Porzingis mentions during NBA All-Star weekend in Toronto. Having the 4th most sold jersey in the NBA will get you a lot of love from the media, and apparently it will also make you the feature of a song parody of Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’….
As a Knicks fan I am cool with all this attention, just at the end of the day… Stay Focus my man, Stay Focus!!

So this chick Lana Scolara who was felt-up and sucked face with Robin Thicke is soaking up her 15 minutes of fame this week. Usually I wouldn’t give nonsense like this attention, but I could not resist as I have a real problem with this chick.
So what’s my issue?
Is it that because of the unnecessary attention Scolara has received when there are more important issues in the world like Syria… Nah!
Or could it be that I am appalled by Robin Thicke’s actions; he’s a married… Yeah Right!
So why?
Man, I’m made because this chick is talking way too much!!!
EVERY chick wants to shine now! You just can’t be content that Robin Thicke was trying to smash and Paula Patton either didn’t mind or possibly may have wanted the three of y’all to get down.
But Lana haddddd to give an interview and talk about this???
Come on Lana!!!!!
Whatever happened to the “walk of shame”? I guess “shame” has been replaced with “fame”, smh.
Seriously, I don’t know why this is bothering me, I don’t care about Thicke, Scolara or Paula…. Nah, hold up Paula Patton can find me in the club and make-out with me all she want.
AND I WOULDN’T TELL ANYONE!!!!

There is no Rocky without Apollo Creed, or should I say Carl Weathers!!!
Now before all the Rocky/Stallone fans get on me just hear me out; I have a perfectly good explanation behind my statement.
Stallone did a great job portraying the character Rocky Balboa; a down and out struggling club fighter that has been hit in the head one too many times. But in order to draw the contrast between Rocky and his opponent; you need an antagonist that you love to hate and who other than Carl Weathers could have pulled that off? Not only did Rocky’s opponent had to look the part (boxer) but he to able to act the part.
I would go as far to say that Without Weathers Rocky would not be the hit movie it was, it was the perfect combination of showing how hard work pays off and walking the thin line of America’s need of a Great White Champion. Now before you write me off as being a racist and example of the Great White Champion theory just think back to the hype around Gerry Cooney. Also, remember Eddie Murphy‘s Rocky bit?
With the desire to root for the underdog and you add Carl Weathers’ over the top cockiness and you got the perfect movie, and there was no one else at that time that could have pulled off that role. Who else could have played Creed, Billy Dee Williams???
HAHAHA!!!
You all might be asking, why write about Carl Weathers and his impact on Rocky??? Well, recently they have been showing Rocky 1, 2, and 3 and it got me thinking how great Carl was and how Stallone really owes Weathers for his success.
So when ‘Expendables’ came out with Stallone, Schwarzenegger (who also owes Carl for ‘Predator’), and Bruce Willis where was Carl Weathers? Where is the love???

HAHA, there is nothing better than NYC when you are winning. This is especially true when it comes to the Knicks, New Yorkers love the their Knicks and we love players that work hard.
And in NY the admiration can come in many forms, fans giving you a standing ovation in Garden, Spike Lee wearing your jersey front row at home and away games during your rookie season,
Or…..
You can have a rap song made about you
Not bad MC Jin, pretty sure Landry Fields will think that is pretty cool.

Jay-Z has decided to support the Occupy Wall Street (#OWS) movement with a new shirt that his clothing brand Rocawear will distribute; Hov recently wore the Occupy All Streets shirt at the MSG Watch The Throne performance. Jay-Z getting behind the Occupy Wall St is sort of a BIG DEAL; this attention will bring a crowd not typically interested in social issues. Of course the attention will be superficial at first as people will be more into looking cool wearing the t-shirts, but there will be an effect (positive and negative).
BUT, I do have 1 problem with Rocawear’s Occupy All Streets t-shirts
“The ‘Occupy All Streets’ T shirt was created in support of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement. Rocawear strongly encourages all forms of constructive expression, whether it be artistic, political or social. ‘Occupy All Streets’ is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street. At this time we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement.”
Sooooooo, you support #OWS, BUT you only support to a certain point????
Come on Rocawear, you have to do better than that; the #OWS movement is about the 99% tired of the 1% building their fortunes on the backs of the working man. And here we have Rocawear profiting off the backs of #OWS!!!
If the shirt is just designed to be cool and “of the moment” or something, then, fine. Do whatever you want. However, if they actually intend it as support, then they should be supporting in a more tangible way.
What Jay-Z’s doing isn’t wrong, per se, it’s just kind of tasteless and jerky seeming. If he wanted to lend his support, he could have shown up at the protests… Or he could have made the shirts say something clearer like “Jay-Z, a rich man, should pay more taxes!” Or he could just give the movement some of the darn profits.
I agree with Bershad on these points, basically Rocawear is profiting off the backs of #OWS! Jay-Z needs to call up whoever at Rocawear and tell them to do the right thing. I realize there is a cost of production, Rocawear should keep what money they need to cover cost and give the rest to support #OWS.
Put the mic down for a second Hov and do the right thing!!
