President Donald Trump is Trolling Us….

President Donald Trump is trolling us!

Plain and simple, and this is something I have been telling people since he became President of the United States. Unfortunately way too many of you out there still don’t get it, and fall for it EVERY time Trump sends out a tweet, or says something off-the-cuff during photo-ops.

Example, Donald Trump says the following this past Monday

“You don’t know until you test it, but I think, I really believe I’d run in there, even if I didn’t have a weapon, and I think most of the people in this room would have done that too,”

Social media went nuts with all types of memes and mentioning how Trump avoided the draft with deferments.

Whhhyyyyyyy????

Any sane person knows Trump is full of shit, and yes there are Trump supporters who believe it, but who cares? You are never going to convince a Trump Supporter that Trump is full of shit, so why waste the energy? Why give this story ANY energy at all?

It never fails as my social media feeds still goes nuts, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. And this is causing serious issues with people’s mental states…

In September 2017 The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank wrote about this,

“Since the start of Trump’s rise to power,” Aibel writes, analysts “have become acutely attuned to traumatic arousals” in patients from the political environment. “Several colleagues have shared that many formerly eating disordered patients were retriggered to bulimic episodes that hadn’t occurred in many years until Trump’s candidacy. . . . In the run-up to the election, mental health providers of all stripes were reporting ‘a striking number of anxious and depressed clients who are fixated on the election, primarily fearful of Trump.’ Since Election Day, such colloquialisms as Trump Slump, Trump Anxiety and Trump Affective Disorder achieved cultural and perhaps even clinical currency (in an informally diagnostic sense, of course) along with increases in reported incidents of bullying” and the like.

Those on the right might label this “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” much as I and others detected an “Obama Derangement Syndrome” previously. But the mental trauma caused by politics has reached a point, Aibel argues, where psychoanalysts must rethink how they do things.

As mentioned by Milbank, conservatives definitely had anxiety over Barack Obama, but this seems different. And maybe I notice it more because I am a Democrat and I have more friends who are Democrats. Whatever it is people have to relax a lil bit.

I am no Trump fan, I have despised the man since the 80s (Central Park 5), but I refuse to let this man affect my day-to-day quality of life. And this is coming from someone who loves politics. For those who no me I was that person that debate politics for hours on Twitter and Facebook. I would go to sleep debating and then I would continue that debate first thing in the morning.

And what did I gain from that?

Nothing, absolutely nothing!

Well, not completely nothing, but nothing of substance that would help me going forward. I had to learn that not everyone on Twitter is was worth my energy.

In all honesty I am way too smart to waste time on some lame with 15 followers… I know that sounds so bad, but what’s worse is that people are hyperventilating on their Facebook and Instagram feeds, where more than likely they are screaming to people who think like them.

It’s amazing that people/media still react to Trump, by now we know this guys story. This is the same man who felt the need to lie about the size of his inauguration crowd, and thought it was necessary to have his Press Secretary (Sean Spicer) lie about it as well.

Everything Trump does is not a four-alarm fire, relax…

CNN’s town hall “Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action” #GunControl

CNN‘s town hall “Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action,”that will air tonight at 9 pm (Eastern); participating in this conversation will be students from Stoneman, parents, community members, Florida Representative Ted Deutch, Senators Bill Nelson & Marco Rubio, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, and NRA‘s national spokeswoman Dana Loesch.

It goes without saying that tonight’s town hall will be a passionate one, and there will be moments of people talking over each other. Hopefully those moments can be limited by Jake Tapper who will be hosting the event. So that we can focus on learning something.

For the past couple of days we have seen the pain of students and families who have lost loved ones and we have heard from the political pundits. It’s time to hear from lawmakers answer tough questions looking into the faces of students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and tell them why more can’t be done.

I have heard how the NRA supports sensible gun regulations, but what exactly is that?

Dana Loesch is someone I have had several conversations with (over social media) and while we may disagree on many things; our conversations are always productive. This is the platform for Dana to be productive and clarify the NRA’s message,

What does the NRA consider sensible gun regulations?

Why does the NRA not trust calls for a national registry?

Is the NRA against a ban on “assault rifles” like the AR-15, and if so why?

Will any of these questions be answered? If I am honest with myself, no.

I hope I am wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a bunch of people talking at each other instead of talking to each other.

Mike Vick’s “Clean-Cut” Comment is Way Off-Base…

Mike Vick knows what it is to be a pariah, and his recent comments while on FS1’s ‘Speak For Yourself’ about Colin Kaepernick were well-intentioned…

“First thing we’ve got to get Colin to do is cut his hair,”

“Listen, I’m not up here to try to be politically correct. Even if he puts cornrows in there, I don’t think he should represent himself in that way in terms of just the hairstyle. Just go clean-cut. You know, why not? You’re already dealing with a lot of controversy surrounding this issue. The most important thing that he needs to do is just try to be presentable.”

“I just think perception and image is everything. This is not the Colin Kaepernick that we’ve known since he entered the National Football League,”

“I’m just going off my personal experiences. Listen, I love the guy to death. But I want him to also succeed on and off the field. This has to be a start for him.”

The problem is that Vick is using his experience as a false equivalent to what is going on with Kaepernick. Vick was a convict, Kaepernick has not broken any laws or served any time. Vick was trying to not only get back into football, he also needed money to pay off debts. The only thing Kaepernick is guilty of is exercising his right to protest and have an afro.

As Vick mentions he is going off his own “personal experiences” when he almost lost everything after serving time for his role in a dog fighting ring. When Vick was released from jail he had to rebuild his image and he ditched his signature cornrolls for a clean-cut look, and that’s fine, but you cannot compare the 2 situations.

Kudos to Eric Davis (former NFL player) for stepping up and challenging Vick in saying that he doesn’t believe Kaepernick cutting his hair will change anything.

In the meantime Kaepernick Tweeted the following

Not sure if Vick will be able to fully grasp what Kaepernick is trying to say here.

HBO’s “The Defiant Ones”

Just finished watching the 4-part documentary series “The Defiant Ones” (writing this @ 1am Wednesday morning) and I highly recommend it as a must see. Doesn’t matter if you love music, rap, or rock. It’s a great look into the minds of 2 geniuses, who paths collided to form a unique relationship/bond.

Allen Hughes (Menace II Society) directed the doc starring Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre (Andre Young) giving the audience an introspective look into these 2 brothers from different mothers rise in music industry and business.

Defiant is the proper adjective to describe Iovine and Dre. I already knew a lot about Dre’s story but did learn new things about Dre the perfectionist. As for Iovine, well I’ll be honest… the most I knew about Iovine was that he was a dude rappers would mention in interviews and songs.

At the end of the series you realize the “evil genius” (as one friend put it) of Iovine and the genius of Dre co-existing to create one of the all-time great partnerships. You can’t help walk away from the series motivated to do something, anything HAHA.

“I never celebrated a success. There are no victory laps. There’s no rearview mirror in my car. I’m always moving forward.” That’s the lesson he wants viewers to take from the film. “The most important thing I ever learned: No matter how ugly it gets, keep moving.”

My mistake was watching episodes 2, 3, and 4 at midnight (now 2am Eastern) and now I can’t go to sleep, smh.

Wait… Pokemon Go Hasn’t Been Released in Japan Yet?!?!?

Wait… Pokemon Go Hasn’t Been Released in Japan Yet?!?!?

You can’t go anywhere, or read anything without someone mentioning Pokemon Go and trying to catch Pikachu.

This craze has taken over and is at a level that people are getting robbed at meetups, and causing accidents.

2-weeks after its release in the U.S. the numbers are insane; 30 million downloads and $35 million in revenue. In that timeframe Nintendo‘s value doubled that’s without a release in Japan yet!

SuperMario

As of right now Niantic (the game-maker) announced they have delayed the Japan launch, due to an email link discussing the launch plans. Whenever Niantic decides to release Pokemon Go in Japan, I hope their servers are ready for the onslaught of users.

And with all that energy, I can only wonder what will be the next fad to blow up.

When Will Marco Rubio Actually Win?

When will Marco Rubio start living up to the media and pundits expectations and actually give Donald Trump a run for his money?

To be honest, when will he start living up to his own team’s expectations. The Washington Post reported that Rubio’s team had a strategy of “3-2-1”; coming in 3rd in Iowa, 2nd in New Hampshire, and 1st in South Carolina.

The only problem, Trump mania!

I shouldn’t give Trump ALL the credit, Rubio hasn’t helped his cause stumbling in debates and coming off as the manufactured candidate.

Time is running out for Rubio and with Trump’s victory in Nevada, he has to be feeling the pressure. And we know what happens when he feels the pressure…..

SMH, Rubio has to get it together soon or else he will be on the sidelines with his old mentor Jeb Bush.

Stacey Dash Hired by Fox News as a Contributor

Congrats to Stacey Dash!?!?

By now it’s old news that the ‘Clueless‘ star is a small-government Conservative.  During the 2012 Presidential Election Dash openly supported and campaigned for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.  When Dash tweeted her support for Romney her twitter account was hammered with harsh comments that at times was over the line.

Here is the press release from Fox News:

Most recently, Dash sparked controversy during the 2012 presidential election when she endorsed then-Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on her personal Twitter account and subsequently endured heavy criticism for supporting a conservative nominee.  Since the election, Dash has continued to utilize her unique positioning as a well-known actress to voice her opinions and encourage discussion on topics ranging from pop culture to national news and politics across all media platforms.

In addition to her cultural and political activism, Dash leads a notable acting career that has spanned more than 20 years.  She has appeared in numerous films and television series, including her breakout role as “Dionne” in the 1995 hit movie “Clueless,” as well as roles in “Renaissance Man,” “Mo’ Money,” and “View from the Top,” among others.

Does “cultural’ mean Black?

Hopefully, for her this is not some stunt for attention, and they (Fox News) appreciate what she can offer their broadcast. In all honesty I can’t see this being a grab for attention, I mean no disrespect to Stacey Dash but she hasn’t done much since ‘Clueless’…

Ok, I will give her credit for ‘Mo Money,’ she was fine in that joint!

Tim Geithner and Jon Stewart Square Off….

Over the past couple of weeks former Secretary of Treasury Tim Geithner has been doing the round on the talk-show circuit promoting his new book, ‘Stress Test: Reflections on Financial Crises’.

With this book Geithner attempts to set the record straight on why the bailout was necessary and without it, the financial crises would have been much worse.

The bailout of the financial industry is one of those topics that rub both Conservatives and Liberals the wrong way and has earned Geithner critics on both sides of the aisle.  Geithner to his credit does not run from his critics and strongly believes that he and the Obama Administration did everything within their power to stave off financial disaster.

In one of the better interviews Geithner participated in was on ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ (5/20).  In a 42-minute interview that had some light moments, Geithner and Stewart went back and forth on conveying their point of views.

For Geithner, this discussion will always be difficult as populous opinion just sees the bailout as “Big Banks” being saved while “Joe Public” was left to fail and foreclosed on.  In a funny but honest moment Geithner admits to understanding why people are mad, but at the same time saying it was still necessary…

“Because we did this set of frankly pretty offensive, seemingly unfair set of things, we have an economy that is, again terrible, hard, a lot of challenges, but much, much better, than what it would have been.”

Stewart in great fashion stayed on message, his belief is that we would have been better off if the government bailed out the people and focused on saving people from foreclosure on their homes.   That would have led to the people having more money to spend and keep the economy going.

“Economies are perception.  So your reality of, but we avoided a depression, doesn’t fit the reality of people’s perception that they haven’t avoided their own personal depression…”

The best part of this conversation is that both men were open to listening to each other’s viewpoint.

If haven’t peeped the full length interview checkout the link below.

Chris Christie Wins BIG in New Jersey

h_cover_0121

The people of Jersey spoke and they spoke in a BIG way as Chris Christie was re-elected as Governor of New Jersey.

Christie a Republican won a whopping 60% of the vote in New Jersey a Blue state, and he was able to do this even though the people in New Jersey disagree with their governor on some major issues like raising minimum wage.  Also in a head-to-head battle New Jersey would back Hilary Clinton for president.

But there will be plenty of time to look at a possible Christie versus Clinton presidential campaign.  Until then, lets look at the road to 2016 for Christie and the GOP.

It’s time for the extreme right-wing of the GOP to step aside and let Conservatives like Chris Christie shine.  Don’t worry about him hugging President Obama, worry about results.  GOP candidates do not have to be more Conservative, that is a losing formula these days and it’s dragging down the Republican party.  On MSNBC’s Steve Schmidt (former McCain Campaign strategist) talked what’s next for Christie and he mentioned a professional speech writer.  IMO, that’s the last thing he needs, the GOP needs an injection of excitement not another canned candidate.

Can Chris Christie avoid the pressure of being a canned candidate and the pull of the extreme right?

Miley Cyrus with the Roots and Jimmy Fallon performing ‘We Can’t Stop’

Say what you want about Miley Cyrus and her twerking ass, but she has consistently kept her name in the spotlight. And as the saying goes,

“There is no such thing as bad press.”

Miley has gone from shocking everyone with her performance at MTV’s VMAs, consistently having pics of her sticking her tongue out in entertainment magazines, to giving ‘Saturday Night Live‘ 4.5 million viewers while hosting and being the musical guest this past Saturday.

And since her SNL appearance she has made her rounds on the talk show circuit which include a visit to Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Late Night’ show. Here’s a video version of Cyrus’ ‘We Can’t Stop’ with help from The Roots and Jimmy Fallon…

So if y’all were looking for Miley to go away, it’s not happening!
