Hillary Clinton Wanted to Hide Her Emails

On March 2nd the NY Times reported that during her time as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton used her personal email account to conduct State Dept business. Right off the bat this just didn’t sound right, I mean the idea of Clinton sending emails to her foreigner counterparts from a Gmail account just seemed absurd.

This is not illegal, but it’s suspicious to me that a high-ranking official in the State Dept would conduct business via personal email. Clinton’s predecessors, Colin Powell and possibly Condoleezza Rice (rarely used email) also used personal email from time to time.

What makes Clinton’s case a lil more suspicious than others is that she (or her people) registered the domain ClintonEmail.com (HDR22@ClintonEmail.com)

to send her State Dept emails.

The way I look at this, Clinton did as much as possible to make it difficult to review her emails concerning State Dept business. And she did this knowing that she would be running for president in 2016. What could possibly be the reason for Clinton or any Secretary of State to avoid using the government email system?

If I decided to start using my Gmail account at work to contact vendors and discuss business, I am more than likely trying to cover-up something. Compliance would be on my ass trying to figure out why I was doing this as this would be a security concern as well as an audit issue.

There’s no defense of Hillary Clinton on this, and Democrats need to recognize this. This doesn’t necessarily validate Benghazi conspiracy theorist, but she should answer questions on this. She needs to be upfront about the rationale of using her personal email and put this story to bed!

Militant Mondays – Colin Powell on GOP’s “Dark Vein of Intolerance”

Colin Powell

Colin Powell

I am a big fan of Colin Powell and whenever he does an appearance/interview I try to watch; and his appearance on Meet The Press Sunday was not a disappointment for me.  Colin Powell does not shy away from the fact that he is a Republican but at the same time he is not shying away from expressing his disappointment in the party he grew up with.

I will say that I believe that the term minorities is no longer a term to be identified with a particular race but it’s more about economic status.  The 47% that Mitt Romney spoke about leaving behind is more than just Black people, it’s made up of low-income folks struggling to stay above water.  This is the group of people that so-called conservatives have forgotten.

The GOP will have to get it together if they stand to have a chance in 2016.
