Hillary Clinton Wanted to Hide Her Emails

On March 2nd the NY Times reported that during her time as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton used her personal email account to conduct State Dept business. Right off the bat this just didn’t sound right, I mean the idea of Clinton sending emails to her foreigner counterparts from a Gmail account just seemed absurd.

This is not illegal, but it’s suspicious to me that a high-ranking official in the State Dept would conduct business via personal email. Clinton’s predecessors, Colin Powell and possibly Condoleezza Rice (rarely used email) also used personal email from time to time.

What makes Clinton’s case a lil more suspicious than others is that she (or her people) registered the domain ClintonEmail.com (HDR22@ClintonEmail.com)

to send her State Dept emails.

The way I look at this, Clinton did as much as possible to make it difficult to review her emails concerning State Dept business. And she did this knowing that she would be running for president in 2016. What could possibly be the reason for Clinton or any Secretary of State to avoid using the government email system?

If I decided to start using my Gmail account at work to contact vendors and discuss business, I am more than likely trying to cover-up something. Compliance would be on my ass trying to figure out why I was doing this as this would be a security concern as well as an audit issue.

There’s no defense of Hillary Clinton on this, and Democrats need to recognize this. This doesn’t necessarily validate Benghazi conspiracy theorist, but she should answer questions on this. She needs to be upfront about the rationale of using her personal email and put this story to bed!

Lawrence O’Donnell vs Condi Rice….

With the death of Osama Bin Laden (OBL) there is a renewed interest in looking at the Bush Administration and their policies after 9/11.  Since the death of OBL Democrats are taking the opportunity to point out that the Bush Administration failed to capture/kill OBL.  Dems are seizing what they believe is a chance to win political points with voters in showing the Democrats can be tough on terrorist.  Republicans over the past decade have always stated that Democrats are weak on the war on terror and that with a Democrat as president the U.S. will not be as safe.

Of course that is a silly notion….

One interview that basically sums up the week of Bush bashing would be the Condi Rice interview on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show ‘The Last Word’.  O’Donnell is a tough as he is passionate about his beliefs, but at the same time he is knowledgeable about the game of politics.  I have seen O’Donnell eat some guest alive with his interview style but Condi definitely held her own and she was prepared.

Regardless of what you think of Rice, you cannot deny that she is a tough/intelligent woman.  I may differ with Condi Rice on various issues as she is a Conservative (Moderate Republican), but I respect her knowledge of foreign affairs.  In this interview Rice defended her decisions, to be fair decisions were made based on the intelligence at the time.
